CAL BOOKS

Web4Homes is offering a scholarship of up to $500 to a local student who will be transferring to Cal Berkeley for the Fall 2020 Semester.  This student can be transferring from one of our local high schools as a Freshman, or from DVC as a Junior.  The money will be used to fund books in their first semester.

Nominees should contact Kevin at kevinmurraycan@gmail.com with the following:

• Current Residence Address

• Telephone Number

• 500 word essay about what Cal Berkeley means to them and their future.

• 300 word explanation of community services in which they have been involved.

• 200 words about somebody whom they admire in their community.

• Include a 2300 mp wide photo, taken by them, demonstrating excellence in our community.   With permission for us to use the photo without restriction.

• All of this should be included in the body of the email — no attachments!  The subject of the email should be specifically, “Cal Books 2020” 

The submissions will be evaluated in the spirit of my favorite professor when I was at Cal, George Conncanon   George admired brevity and directness.  He was the least politically correct professor in the Cal Business School.  One of my proudest moments was when it was he who handed me my diploma in 1988.  Go Bears!!!
